Review: The Sound Of Animals Fighting - The Ocean and The Sun

On September 9th, The Sound Of Animals Fighting will release there third LP, The Ocean and The Sun, through Epitaph Records.

The return of The Sound Of Animals Fighting comes as a wave towards listeners, staying true to there original experimental sound of magical musical-mash, while surprising listeners that are expecting the sound from Tiger and the Duke and those who are hoping its changed from Lover, The Lord As Left Us, by adding a new element of storytelling and musical creativeness, and believe me it works!

Upon first listening, i was hooked. After a through listen I must say, this is the best piece of storytelling through music that TSOAF has ever created. A complex story about the inspiring power of nature and how we forgot it. While songs are passed from one animal to the next, as the story forms around it.

In this nine track epic, the Skunk, the Nightingale, the Walrus and the Lynx bring you songs of sheer genius including "I, The Swan", "Cellophane", "The Heraldic Beak of the Manufacturer's Medallion", and "Another Leather Lung", as the others setup a frame and meaning for the story.

The Sound Of Animals Fighting have put out a true piece of art, that will be valued by those who understand it and by those who love the sheer creativity and musical skill of it's members. The Ocean and The Sun may be turned away by first listeners of the band, but the long time fans and die-hards should be very satisfied.
