Review: Larry Bishop's Hell Ride

Hell Ride
Written and Directed By Larry Bishop
August 23, 2008

"Bikes, Beer and Booty" is something you will grow very fond of upon watching Larry Bishop's Hell Ride. The movie kicks off with a bang and then to continues to kick ass for another 83 minutes. Larry Bishop plays Pistolero the "President" of the rebel biker group "The Victors", also "Victors", Michael Madsen as "The Gent" and Eric Balfour as "Comanche". The Victors begin to shoot out for revenge after several "double-crosses" with the power-hungry gang the "Six-Six-Six"ers who is run by psychotic leader Billy Wings (Vinnie Jones), The Victors inch closer and closer to reclaiming there score, but on that path there "alligence" to the group and each other is being tested.

Its very hard to REALLY catch the main premise of what Hell Ride is about but if your a fan of the Grindhouse or other B-movie type flicks you will love this, sex, violence, drugs, and bikes are key elements to what make Hell Ride what it is, with very Tarantino-like dialog sequences and very, very, funny moments of dialog.

Another aspect of the movie I love is the cinematography, very raw, gritty and sometimes just flat out corny. I wouldn't recommend Hell Ride to the casual movie goer because the film is far too specific an experience to appeal to everyone. It is a made-for-fans B-movie throwback, with great scenes of action and tons of female exploitation. The movie does have very sloppy direction and very poor screen writing
but if your a fan, I don't think you will be too concerned.
